I replaced my pillows recently, and decided to turn the old ones into cat beds. I used a yard of flannel for each one, sewed three sides of the rectangle to make a ‘bag’ or ‘pillow case’, put the pillow in and topstitched it closed. Then I tacked through all layers to make the ‘tufts’ which give a bit more shape and structure.

Both cats seem to approve of their fancy new furniture.

Bushwick curled up in the sunshine.
Ciara looking like the princess that she is.

  • I have it on my list to update our pillows also! Our living room is pretty dark and I need to brighten things up. 🙂 I’m looking forward to reading your post on the 1930’s gown!

    • I think we all go through times of falling behind and then catching back up, especially in the creative sphere. Sewing especially can be an ebb and flow of when things get done and it doesn’t always mean we can schedule out posts. I hope my followers know this and are okay when I’m quiet for a while. Usually it means something big is coming!
